უცხოელების თვალით დანახული ჩემი სოფელი/ Khovle in my mind

My first impression of Khovle was when I was driving in from Tbilisi in my host father’s marshutka. It was beautiful. The mountains were covered in green trees and shrubs and the sky was a clear and blue. We passed some cows and I took pictures because I thought it was interesting to see cows on a road. We drove into the village and many people were looking into our marshutka. I think they knew I was coming! My host family is SO wonderful. They are who showed me how wonderful Georgian people, culture, and food is. They were very kind and hospitable to me. I went with my host brother and sister and explored the mountains of the village and it was magnificent! I love exploring with my host brother and sister, and enjoy watching movies, reading books, and walking with them. They are SO much fun! My first day of school was very different than I have ever experienced. There were so many people, and the teachers did not yet know their schedules. This was interesting to me, because in the US, the teachers’ schedules are determined much before the year begins. I got a GREAT co-teacher named Sopo. Sopo is a wonderful English teacher and I am so glad she is teaching in Khovle. Teaching in Georgia is very interesting. Mostly because I don’t know the language, so it makes it very difficult for me to communicate with the students and other teachers. Some of the teachers were very nice to me, and I appreciated that. The children are very crazy, and that made it difficult to teach, BUT it is very fun! I am very glad I came to this wonderful village to teach and learn about Georgian culture. I love all of my students and I love my host family. I love Georgia!
